Weatherford Independent School District (ISD), known for serving over 8,200 students and its commitment to becoming a leader in educational and innovative opportunities in North Texas, engaged Lynk Automation to support its technological infrastructure.
Lynk Automation’s previous collaboration with Weatherford ISD focused on Juan Seguin Elementary School, where they undertook a significant upgrade of the campus’s audio system. The existing setup was replaced with advanced Wahsega IP based speaker system to enhance communication throughout the school. Clear and effective communication is crucial in educational environments, both for daily activities and emergency situations, making the reliability and functionality of the audio system essential.
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, approximately 24,000 schools in the United States are equipped with inadequate public address (PA) systems, representing nearly 21% of the total. Among these, some institutions continue to rely on outdated analog technology dating back to the 1950s.
The new Wahsega PA system provided several improvements. It ensured complete audio coverage across the building and introduced two-way audio capabilities, allowing for better interaction and response. The system supports local audio from any source and features weatherproof casing, which ensures durability and reliability. Additionally, the Wahsega system allows administration to dial into certain zones or classrooms.
A notable benefit of the Wahsega system was its efficiency in reducing infrastructure costs. Unlike the previous setup, where each speaker required its own switch port, the Wahsega system allows two speakers to run off a single switch port. This optimization not only streamlined the audio system but also resulted in significant cost savings for the school district.
Overall, Lynk Automation’s solutions to upgrade the system not only enhanced the functionality and reliability of the audio network, but also supported Weatherford ISD’s goal of leading in educational innovation while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
