White Settlement ISD

Verkada AC and Camera Upgrades

White Settlement Independent School District (ISD), located across the City of White Settlement and the western portion of Fort Worth is the home of nearly 7,000 Brewer Bear students. The district has a strong belief that “a safe, secure and enriched environment enhances learning.” It was this belief that drove the district to partner with Lynk to make technology and security improvements across the campus.

Lynk began work in early Fall of 2024, with the team working diligently through the rest of the year and into the next to deploy Verkada networking and security equipment across the district. The project began with the installation of Verkada AC42 door controllers at building entrances, allowing the district to monitor and manage up to four doors per controller while integrating existing door hardware where possible. To expand these capabilities even further, AX11 input/output controllers were strategically installed across the campus. With 16 inputs and 16 outputs, each AX11 adds significant flexibility to the access control system—enabling remote locking and unlocking, real-time monitoring of up to 16 door positions, and tighter control over high-priority entry points. These devices also generate camera-linked events when doors are opened or propped, giving the district increased visibility and faster incident response.

Across nearly a dozen campuses, our team strategically installed hundreds of Verkada cameras to enhance visibility and security both indoors and outdoors. The deployment included a range of camera types—interior and exterior domes, fisheyes, mini domes, and advanced multi-sensors—each selected to meet the unique needs of specific areas. These installations eliminated previous blind spots, providing comprehensive coverage of hallways, entry points, and parking lots. Special attention was given to the placement of Verkada’s CH52 multi-sensor cameras, which feature four high-resolution lenses in a single unit with built-in AI-powered detection. These multi-sensors are ideal for monitoring large, open spaces and were installed with precision to maximize their field of view.

During the project, the team encountered challenges with the existing Door Position Indicators (DPIs) not properly syncing with the upgraded door controllers. As a result, the system failed to accurately detect when doors remained propped open for extended periods—posing a potential security risk. Using a multimeter, the team methodically diagnosed and isolated the faulty DPIs. Thanks to their swift and precise troubleshooting, Lynk successfully resolved the issue and ensured the system’s integrity and security.

As the final installations wrap up, White Settlement ISD is now equipped with a modern, unified security infrastructure designed to meet the demands of a growing district. By integrating Verkada’s intelligent surveillance and access control solutions, the district has taken a proactive step in safeguarding its students, staff, and facilities.

We are proud to have partnered with a district that prioritizes student safety and embraces innovation, and we look forward to supporting their continued growth in the future.
